Mother’s Day

Room 2 children hope all their mums have a very happy Mother’s Day.
We hope you like reading the poems we have written about you.
We know you will enjoy eating the surprises in the special jewellery box we made for you!

Mice
Their tails are long
Their faces small
They haven’t any chins at all
Their ears are pink
Their teeth are white
They run about the house at night
They nibble things
They shouldn’t touch
And no-one seems to like them much
But I think mice are rather nice,
Don’t you?
Today our new Receptions came for a visit. We read the poem about mice.
The Receptions made these cute mice.
Aren’t they nice?
Do you think mice are nice?
Spaghetti
Spaghetti, spaghetti, all over the place,
Up to my elbows—up to my face,
Over the carpet and under the chairs,
Into the hammock and wound round the stairs,
Filling the bathtub and covering the desk,
Making the sofa a mad mushy mess.
The party is ruined, I’m terribly worried,
The guests have all left (unless they’re all buried).
I told them, “Bring presents.” I said, “Throw confetti.”
I guess they heard wrong
‘Cause they all threw spaghetti!

These poems were written with love. They tell about all the things we do with our dads and all the things our dads do with and for us.
What special things did you do for your Dad on Father’s Day?
Did your Dad have a great day? Why?

At last, after a few technical issues Room 2 children have recorded their Mother’s Day poems. Listen and enjoy!
